Breaking Glass
This weekend's supermoon-solar eclipse shatters our bad boundaries and self-illusions.

Hi, doll!
You’ll have to excuse my exclamation point. There’s a super moon-solar eclipse on the horizon, and the vibe is spring on steroids! (Sorry again.)
Solar eclipses occur when a new moon falls between the Earth and the sun, blocking light from swaths of our planet. They are all about initiations and actions—revelations, bright beginnings, tremendous surges of energy. This eclipse, exact in the wee hours of tomorrow morning, is in fiery Aries, which is also about initiations and actions.
The last few weeks have been a total cockup, there’s no pretending otherwise. Between the breakdown of the American Experiment, this cuckoo-crazy eclipse season, and the Venus and Mercury retrogrades in Aries, overwhelm is the new norm. Even the best-behaved among us have been embroiled in grade-A kerfuffles, and every day has delivered headlines many would’ve deemed unthinkable six months ago.
No astrology can turn back this clock, nor can it do all of our heavy lifting. But if we meet them halfway, the stars of the next week can help us work toward a future that serves more than the billionaire class and our basest instincts.

you there? You're everywhere, come and get your share/Well, we all shine on/With the moon and the stars and the sun.—John Lennon
The Venus retrograde has moved into Pisces, introducing us to a higher level of compassion and accountability. Coupled with tomorrow’s solar eclipse in Aries, we are being granted the tools to shatter glass ceilings and houses, self-illusions, and unhealthy boundaries to make way for collaborations founded on integrity, kindness, and joy.
Though it closes the door on the 2025 spring eclipse season, this solar eclipse has such fire-starter energy that it is less of an ending than a bridge between where we’ve been and where we are heading.
The last time we experienced a solar eclipse on the Libra-Aries axis—the “axis of interdependence”—was April 2023. What was transpiring then that links to something surging now? In whom were you investing resources of time, money, and good will?
Already the Venus retrograde has been forcing us to reevaluate relationship patterns. This week, long-simmering issues come to a boil. Cue confrontations, couples screaming at each other on sidewalks, come-to-Jesus conversations, catharses that deepen bonds in the long run.
Financial issues also may be illuminated. Venus rules money, lest ye forget, and tax season is overlapping with eclipse season. Credit cards may get stolen. You may get hit with unexpected charges or uncover serious swindling or fraud. Your own bad-faith dealings may be revealed.
Can I get a yikes?
“Like the Moon, I have a feeling it would take a truly spectacular event to keep me from taking my place in the scheme of things, waxing, waning, and eclipsing notwithstanding.” —Janet Rebhan
The re-alchemization caused by eclipses is inherently destabilizing, so make sure not to destabilize yourself further. The usual eclipse advisories: Hydrate amply, exercise and eat moderately, eschew artificial and mind-altering substances, avoid overscheduling.
That said, an Aries solar eclipse is not stagnant or still energy, so your best modes of meditation over the next four days probably entail motion. Play, dance, tromp in nature. Engage in any brisk activity that plugs you into the cosmos rather than your devices. (This is always advised during a Mercury retrograde.)
The key is to distinguish between feeling alone and feeling lonely. We can be lonely in the center of a crowd. We also can feel rhapsodically connected to everything while technically being on our own. Once we better grasp this distinction, it is easier to establish boundaries that serve everyone’s best interests.
Communion—the act of deeply tuning into each other and a higher consciousness—is the name of the game. Because the act energizes rather than enervates, there is no sustainable community without communion; it enables us to show up for each other for reasons other than our need for a mirror.
Take some to meditate on how you really want to connect. Do you crave more sexual intimacy? More hugs? More solitude? More IRL facetime? More intellectual stimulation? More laughter? More silence in the presence of others? More city or country time? Quieter mornings? More shared meals? Try tuning into your longings without judgement, even if they spur surprising self-revelations.
Such introspection may seem indulgent in the shadow of authoritarianism. But if we don’t learn how to joyfully and healthfully connect, our alliances will burn out long before we cross the finish line of what promises to be an ultra-marathon of resistance.
A dream you dream together is reality.― John Lennon
Though normally I advise against setting new-moon intentions, solar eclipses charged by supermoons are fantastic for manifestation. This is especially true when the sun and moon are in Aries.
Intuitive readings over the next week will activate your unique powers of manifestation. Book a session for yourself or a loved one. To assess how this eclipse activates your natal chart, get a Whether Report.
May you thrive in this fresh burst of air and sun.
With waggling eyebrows and slow kitty blinks,
Amazing as usual! Thank you for the guidance. I know I'm going to be hoping for more communion as well more FaceTime IRL and more connection!
